Hello! I'm Lauren!

I am a compulsive creator, sharer, writer, and nature-lover.

For the last 10 years, I've lived and breathed social media and design - in every format. Since 2005, I have freelanced graphic design, web design and development, photography and photo re-touching, community management, social strategy consulting, copywriting, and more.

In 2010, I founded goodwomenproject.com which became an international blog and online community for women, garnering over 3.5 million views - and now with its own column on Huffington Post.

My writing has been featured on Huffington Post, Relevant Magazine, Darling Magazine, and Converge Magazine.

My art and design has been featured on Variety, Design Work Life, Decor8 (Holly Becker), Wall Street Journal, Collider, Mashable, and LA Weekly.

I am currently a Creative Director at McBeard Media, an agency that creates and maintains the social presence (and all of the rockin' creative content) for major film and television properties. During my two years there, I've served Universal, Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, ABC Family, Relativity, Summit Entertainment, and Chernin Entertainment.

I am the oldest of four children, raised across Florida, Alabama, and Ohio. My parents adopted teachings from the Pearls' "No Greater Joy" books and Vision Forum, homeschooling us and raising us to be set apart from all non-Christians. Unable to watch television, movies, or read magazines, we grew up in an unusual bubble that not even youth group penetrated, as it was 'too worldly' and public school children were in attendance.

True to their patriarchal roots, my parents declared their religious obligation to disown me at 18 when I chose to move out and attend college. NGJ/VF philosophies teach that girls are under the physical and spiritual authority of their fathers until their fathers give them away in marriage. In addition, by sharing painful family incidents with friends, I had chosen to 'live a life of sin.'  My parents' misunderstanding of verses like Eph. 5:11 required them to "have no contact with those in sin" - even family members.

I have dedicated my life to restoring my heart and soul and working with women from similar upbringings. Over the past ten years, I have learned to integrate with society for the first time (let's be real here and laugh at how wild this sentence is -- I kind of love it. We are children forever.); wrestled through depression, PTSD, spiritual abuse, and chronic anxiety; unwound the tentacles of fear and distrust towards 'everyone else,' and wielded the skills my childhood developed in me with a newfound, humbling gratitude.

After brief stints in Arizona, North Carolina, Oregon, and road-tripping the country for a year, I now live with my husband and two cats in Los Angeles, California.

Bottom line:  We are neither strictly one nor the other.

I want to sit with you, hear you, and know you. Peel back the layers and connect the dots from soul to relationships to career and back to self again.

My expertise lies in honoring the spiritual journey and history of each woman, while creating an environment for you to suspend your disbelief in yourself and your desires.

Once we arrive here, we can begin to weave your soul back into your daily life, and give you tools to be the woman you want to be in your career. Dissolve the fear, the distrust, the self-sabotage, and the voice in your head that tells you, 'you don't know what you're after.'

This is where coaching comes in. Join the next Los Angeles Desire Map workshop, or walk through it personally with me.
